It's time for some Fall fun! Our Friday Fall Fun Night will be held on Friday, October 25 with the crew from ACT BG. It's going to be a fun night out at the Weaver Ranch in Swantucky for some good old country bumpkin fun!
Campfire, s'mores, carving pumpkins, air bobbing and water bobbing for apples, leaf jumping, and so much more!
For those who do not have a ride, transportation will be available from the ACT UT House (2018 Bretton Place).
Join us for a fun night under the stars, by the fire and in the leaves!
Student Leadership Team (SLT) officer nominations for our new term (Spring 2020 through Fall 2020) begin Friday November 1. Office positions include: President, Vice President / Secretary, Prayer Team and Outreach/Missions Team / Treasurer. Nomination forms will be available at our regular events. Specific officer responsibilities and qualifications are listed on the nomination form. The SLT is responsible for planning all of our events, themes, organization and administration of Active Christians Today UT. Also, University of Toledo regulations require officer positions for all student organizations.
To be nominated for a position, a student must receive at least two nominations for the same position (nomination and second). Nominations may be placed in the drop box in the kitchen. No self-nominations are allowed. One student cannot nominate someone for multiple positions. Nominations will close on November 8 at 7:30 pm. Scott and Karen will review all nominations and contact those who were nominated. Students may accept or decline their nomination. Once all students have accepted and/or declined their nomination, a ballot will be assembled.
Ballots will be made available for students on November 10. Students will have until November 26 to vote for the leadership team. Once voting is closed, Scott and Karen will tally votes, contact candidates and confirm the new leadership team. This leadership team will assume their new SLT officer positions beginning December 1. A meeting of our old and new leadership team will take place on December 1.
You do not have to be an officer to serve on our team! We have many students who attend our meetings and serve but have chosen not to take an officer role. We would love for you to be involved!
Tuesday nights we welcome you to join our Small Group study "Jesus in the Real World."
We meet at 7 PM in the Active Christians Today UT Campus House (2018 Bretton Place Toledo 43606). Each Tuesday the group takes a case study and looks at it from a Christian perspective. How does faith play into real world situations? That's the question we attempt to answer each week.
At the core, our small groups are an opportunity for our students to get connected, study God’s Word, and encourage each other in their walk with Christ.
The goal of our small groups is to help students become fully devoted followers of Christ and to allow God's Word to inspire them to love, learn, and lead the present and future generations.
If you are interested in an ACT UT Small Group, just show up! We would love to meet you and would love to hear your contribution to our weekly discussions.
Whether you're looking to meet others in your own life stage or find someone to be an accountability partner, this is the place to be!
Wednesday nights are busy at the ACT House (2018 Bretton Place Toledo 43606)! We begin with our Free Family Dinner at 5:30 PM. If class or your job is off later, no worries! We'll save some for you!
We prepare a special and sometimes unique meal each Wednesday. We serve everything from the typical (pizza, tacos) to the off-beat (breakfast for dinner, cereal). We will also grill out when possible including everything from pork chops to hot dogs and burgers!
Bible Study begins at 7:00 PM. Are you hungry to grow in your faith? We're the place to be on Wednesday nights! We dive in deep to Scripture to discover what God has to say to us.
Come join us!
Wednesday following our Free Family Dinner at 5:30 we hold our weekly large group Bible Study at 7 PM.
The title of our special series is "Alpha." What is Alpha? It is a weekly session exploring the Christian faith. Each evening we will look at a different question around faith.
Our weekly talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Each focuses on the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity through God's Word.
The most important part of the evening is our discussion. This is your chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic. There's never an obligation to say anything. And there's nothing you can't say! It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Alpha is run around the world but no two Alphas look the same. However, they generally have three things in common: food, a talk and good conversation. Join us at 5:30 for the food and the talk begins at 7 PM. We will conclude by 8 PM each evening!
Join us for Swing Dance Lessons beginning Thursday, October 10. We'll hold lessons every Thursday night at the Weaver Ranch in Swantucky through the rest of October! Lessons will take place in the Barn Jam barn from 7 to 8 PM. Many of our students would like to swing dance at this year's Barn Jam (November 2, 2019 at the Weaver Ranch).
Lessons are open to EVERYONE! ACT UT, ACT BG, alumni, families - doesn't matter! Even if you won't be joining us for Barn Jam, we would love to have you join us for the fun at the campus house!
We'll be teaching basic steps building up to more complicated moves as we look forward to a fun night.
ACT UT will be joining the Weaver Family Saturday November 2 for their annual "Barn Jam." It is the 19th Annual Barn Jam!
What is Barn Jam? It has been described as a "wedding reception without the wedding and the fancy clothes." It is a potluck (bring a dish to share!) and features a campfire, an indoor snow storm, hayrides, music, giant chess, ping pong, dancing and fun.
Come and join us for a great time of fun and fellowship! Again, it's a potluck - so bring a dish to share!
The barn and the tent are heated - so it is on whether it is rain, snow or moonlight!
